Rafter Diamond L was born in 1960 as a cattle brand in Paso Robles, California. Grandpa Lindquist passed the brand to his granddaughters, Kelsey and Taylor. Kelsey and Taylor decided to raise dairy goats under the name of Rafter Diamond L to honor their Grandpa. Both girls benefited greatly from all of the love, support and teaching from our goat community. Taylor attended Cal Poly, completed a masters program with Dr. Plummer at Iowa State, and is now in vet school and is currently at UC Davis Vet School as a result of her involvement with goats. We need another Goat Veterinarian in California.

These goats began as a 4H project and moved on to FFA. Unstoppable (Sophie) and Faith were the founders of the herd. Ice, Scarlet and Cinnabun followed. Sophie is 17 and still Herd Queen. She is a grade and a permanent champion. She is the “spokes goat" for our line of all natural lotions and soaps called Sophie’s Creations. 

We now have four lines of La Manchas and some grades. We bred Ice to a Sannen to get a grade and then bred back La Mancha to create American and full-blooded La Manchas. The four lines we have are the Un line, Ice line, Flower line and Spice line. The Ice line has produced some permanent champions and a Jr. Reserve National Champion Recorded Grade. The Un line has also produced champions. We sell Recorded Grades, La Manchas and American La Manchas. Our herd is CAE, CL and Johnes free. We are also fully vaccinated. 

We are proud members of the American Dairy Goat Association. We live in the small town of Templeton in California. We are along the Central Coast of the State, close to Cambria and Hearst Castle.
